GiGi McCourt is a pop singer-songwriter whose music bridges generations of sound. Drawing inspiration from the music of the 1960s through today, her songs blend timeless melodies with deeply personal storytelling, carried by a voice known for its distinctive timbre and emotional depth.
Raised between Manhattan and Westchester, GiGi grew up surrounded by creativity and storytelling. She is the granddaughter of celebrated Irish-American writer and performer Malachy McCourt, and the spirit of narrative runs deeply through her work as both a songwriter and a performer.
GiGi began performing at the age of eight and has since taken the stage at venues across New York City and Ireland, including Symphony Space in New York and Bunratty Castle. She also performed at the Frank McCourt Museum in Limerick in front of former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
At fourteen, she wrote her first original song, Ordinary Birds, marking the beginning of her journey as a songwriter. Since then, she has continued to develop her voice as both a writer and performer.
GiGi recently recorded her debut album of original songs in Los Angeles with producer Roger Greenawalt. The album, set for release in Spring 2026, reflects a musical landscape shaped by decades of influence while remaining unmistakably her own.
In addition to her music, GiGi is a Creative Writing major at Mercy University, where she continues to deepen her love for storytelling. She also teaches music in Scarsdale, introducing young students to the joy of everything “from Bach to Rock.”
Through her songwriting, performances, and recordings, GiGi McCourt creates music that feels both nostalgic and entirely new.

"Every song I write is a piece of a story. Music lets me hold onto moments that might otherwise disappear."
